Images of a mystery Samsung handset are circulating online, thought to be the upcoming Galaxy S6

We’re starting to hear more about the Samsung Galaxy S6 recently, with leaks and rumours starting to pile up. Last we week we reported a metal body making the rounds that’s thought to belong to the Galaxy S5 sequel.
This week the leak comes from Chinese website mobile.it.168, showcasing the supposed Galaxy S6 sprayed in florescent yellow. According to the folks who posted it, the picture was sent it by ‘supply chain sources’.
The picture suggests the Galaxy S6 will sport a 5.5-inch display, rather than the 5.2-inch dimensions that were previously rumored. Supporting popular belief, the device also seems to replicate the same premium metal body as the Samsung Galaxy Alpha.
However given the handset’s thick bezels and unusual bright yellow paint job, we refrain from saying this is actually the Galaxy S6. It could very well be another mid-range Samsung phone making its way to the Asian market, so take the leak with a pinch of salt until we hear anything concrete.
Nevertheless, the Galaxy S6 is expected to be a confident iPhone 6 rival packing a fresh design and plenty of high-end specs. Features reportedly en route include the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM and a 21-megapixel rear camera.
The big question is when will the Galaxy S6 be released? Well, Samsung has very much followed Apple’s lead in recent years, updating its devices around the same time every year.
That means we’re likely to see the Galaxy S6 for the first time in either February or March. However, it probably won’t hit store shelves until around April.
It’s highly likely that Samsung will debut the Galaxy S6 at Mobile World Congress, which is scheduled to run between March 2nd and 5th next year.
