The new Htc One (M8) released in march 2014 is more or less similar to its preceder with a more Sleek and improved finish and improved specs under the hood.

The phone is good overall, speedy, blazing fast, excellent features, giving tough time to its competitors as well but for most users who are on M7 it might not be a wise upgrade as both the phones are nearly identical having few differences or differences that actually matter while looking o upgrade from previous Htc one(M7)Pictures :
