Samsung launches Galaxy Alpha in luxury snakeskin styles

Samsung has announced a limited edition range of Galaxy Alpha handsets, making one if its most premium phones even more luxurious.
The leather-back Galaxy Alpha range is a collaborative project between the Samsung and French design firm Free Lance, with the design provided by Jean-Baptiste Rautureau, best known for his leather shoe designs.
At the moment the limited edition styles are being exclusively sold through Samsung’s French website in four different shades: brown, dark grey, burgundy and teal.
The collection are indeed limited, with just 100 of each style being produced, so it will certainly be a race to get hold of one of the swanky handsets.
It’s unclear what material is used on the rear and whether it’s actually animal skin, but it’s evidently something a little more upmarket as the price on the website jumps from 569 euros to 649 euros. In the UK that’s the equivalent of £447 increasing to £510.
Other than the change in design, the specifications of the stylish Galaxy Alpha handsets remain the same. That means you’re looking at a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 1280 x 720 resolution.
Meanwhile on the inside it packs an Exynos 5430 Octa processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 12-megapixel rear camera that’s able to capture 4K video.
